To the Friends of CCSD District #10:
On Saturday, February 2, C. E. Williams Middle School was honored to host the east coast regional meeting of the Science Decathlon.
Teams from 21 middle and high schools converged on Charleston
from Georgia, North Carolina, and elsewhere in South Carolina to
compete in ten events, ranging from rocketry to marine biology.
Several of the individual events were won by C. E. Williams teams, and
the school's second-place overall score was good enough to
qualify for the national meet in Chapel Hill in May. Read
all about
it in the Feb 5 "West Of" newspaper, downloadable here.
This is the second year in a row that C. E. Williams science decathlon teams have excelled nationally. Last year's team placed first in the national competition in Seattle.
Our congratulations go to Ms. Sadie Fox and all the other science
educators, students and parents of C. E. Williams Middle for making
"excellence" more than a slogan!
